How Individual Therapy Can Help You Heal and Grow

Therapy is more than just talking—it's a space to understand how your past experiences are shaping your present. Many of the adults I work with carry invisible wounds from childhood—emotional neglect, feeling unseen or unsafe, or learning early on to suppress their needs in order to survive. These patterns can show up as anxiety, difficulty setting boundaries, people-pleasing, feeling disconnected in relationships, or a deep sense that something is "off"- even if life looks fine on the outside.

In individual therapy, we gently explore these patterns together. We look at how they’ve helped you cope, and how they might now be holding you back. Through trauma-informed and attachment-focused approaches, we work to process what’s unresolved, build emotional resilience, and reconnect with the parts of you that were left behind.

This work isn’t always easy—but it can be deeply transformative. Therapy can help you feel more grounded, more in control of your emotions, and more connected in your relationships. Most of all, it offers a chance to finally feel like yourself again—or maybe for the very first time.

My Approach to Therapy

My work is centered around helping adults heal from trauma and the long-term impact of painful or overwhelming experiences—especially those rooted in childhood. Many of the clients I support have histories of emotional neglect, relational trauma, or environments where they felt unseen, unsafe, or like their needs didn’t matter. I’m trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), an evidence-based approach that helps people process trauma without needing to retell or relive every detail.

Alongside CPT, I incorporate other approaches like mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic techniques that help clients connect with their bodies and nervous systems. I also integrate parts work—supporting clients in exploring the different internal parts or “voices” that may have formed as protective responses to past pain. This can be especially powerful for those who feel stuck in cycles of self-criticism, avoidance, or emotional overwhelm.

Whether you’re working through anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, or patterns linked to early attachment wounds, my goal is to help you access your inner strength and move toward more freedom, connection, and self-trust.

My approach is warm, trauma-informed, and collaborative. I offer reflections and gentle challenges when helpful, and I strive to help you notice how past experiences may be shaping your present emotions, behaviors, and relationships. I hold space for all parts of your story—while also supporting you in moving forward.

I also recognize that our identities and the systems we live within shape our mental health. Many people face daily stress and trauma simply because of who they are. I aim to provide culturally-responsive, affirming care for people of all backgrounds, and to hold space for the complexity of your lived experience with curiosity and respect.

While my personal preference is to work in person—since it can feel easier to connect and build a strong therapeutic relationship—I understand that commuting, scheduling, or other life demands can make that challenging. I'm happy to meet in whatever way works best for you, whether that's in the office or from the comfort of your home.

  • To begin, you’re welcome to schedule a free 20-minute video or phone consultation by completing the contact form below. This initial meeting is a chance for us to connect, talk about what you're looking for in therapy, and to help you decide if this feels like the right space for you.

I aim to respond to all inquiries within two (2) business days.

Please note: A consultation does not guarantee ongoing therapy services and does not establish a therapeutic relationship.

If you are experiencing a mental health or psychiatric emergency, please call 911, dial the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988, or go to the nearest Emergency Department.

  • The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other better, for me to understand what you are hoping to gain from therapy, and determine if/how I might be able to help. I will likely ask more questions than in a regular session because I will need to gather some information about your history and current circumstances. Then we can discuss whether we are a good fit to work together on an ongoing basis.
